I ran to the comments to write my (probably) crack theory about this being the album in which something major is revealed about Jillian but you beat me to it 😂
I also thought of Novacom when I heard the news, since the return of the Chairman would have to involve another potentially world-shattering event. And this summer marks the 20th anniversary of Exit. If it is the Chairman though, I’m hoping he gets to stick around for longer and they don’t end his story in just six short episodes.
Hey David! Hmm, so does this mean my wild stab in the dark might have actually worked? Just thinking about the fact that this is a shorter series, do you think there’s a satisfying way this could be done in just six episodes? Since we’ve already had a ton of story back in the Novacom episodes, is there a way the AIO team could jump right back in and do a conclusion justice?
Yeah, the idea of the return of the Chairman is pretty interesting. I’m just thinking that with how long it has been since the last Novacom episode and how the show has kind of taken a turn in the past few years. For new fans, this would be pretty confusing too, if they haven’t heard the Novacom episodes. I hope it is the return of the Chairman, but I’m just not getting my hopes up.
I think that most of the new fans would be listening to the old stuff too if they were listening on the radio or on the Club, but they’ve in the past made decisions that seemed like they thought that new listeners wouldn’t understand because it had something to do with an old episode.
On a comment on the AIO Club, the moderators said that the chairman might come back but not in the next couple albums so, I don’t think the episode will be about the chairman. It could be, but I don’t know.
Looking forward to hearing all your upcoming content!
On a side note, interestingly enough, page for 28 Hours on Amazon has been updated, completely removing the summary and replacing it with simply:
“The clock is ticking toward an explosive showdown as the crew from Whit’s End race to solve a heart-pounding mystery in this special, six-part adventure 28 Hours.
Adventures in Odyssey audio dramas release the imagination of both young and old as listeners follow a host of characters through adventures in the town of Odyssey. Geared toward kids ages 7 and up, these high-quality audio dramas teach biblical truths and moral foundations for children to make decisions from throughout their lives. They are perfect for car rides and initiating important conversations with kids.”
It’s odd that they removed the extensive summary. I wonder if they didn’t mean to release that much information about the album.
And I agree, it is interesting that we’ve had no buildup to this at all. If done right, I do believe that, if this is indeed the return of the Chairman, they can give a satisfactory conclusion. Time will tell. I assume this album will release in the Club this July, so I guess we’ll just have to wait to find out then.
Ok so if it is the Chairman. Who do you guys want to write it? I think that Nathan Hoobler or Marshal Younger should write it. One of the big reasons I think Nathan write it is that he hasn’t written anything since “The Secret of the Writer’s Ruse” which was released in 2018. So maybe he’s been working on it all this time.
Also we need to think of it being something new. Or part of The Blackgaard Chronicles.
Curious, regarding crazy Album 73 theories, it is possible that the Chairman might not come back, but do you still think that album 73 might reveal things about the Chairman? Do you think that it might reveal that Skint and Jay are behind the Chairman and that the Chairman is working for Skint and Jay, and that Skint and Jay have been secretly working together this whole time to take over the world since Novacom? Do you think that Skint might escape from Jail and that he and Jay might plant a fake mystery in album 73 making Jason think that he has to sacrifice himself to save the lives of thousands, when in real life, there is no danger? It is just Skint getting his revenge on Jason for the events of the Long End and maybe Novacom as well? What if we hear scenes early on with Skint and Jay talking about planning to trick Jason into sacrificing himself, and the rest of the album is us wondering if the other characters will figure it out and stop Jason? I do not think that any of those theories will be the case, but I am just asking to find out what other people’s theories are!
Maybe Skint, but Jay would be a stretch because he is young but in the podcast the story was that Album 73 and the Buck saga were supposed to be connected but it did not mesh well (hint hint)…
*gasp* the chairman!! 😂 I am so excited for this
Also, 28 is the number of episodes in the Novacom saga.
Ooh this is crazy!
Do you think that is intentional?
It might be! At the least, it’s suspicious.
this is the perfect opportunity to bring Jared back
Really hope there’s a Mrs Meido connection here. Would really justify the wasted third part of Revalations

Good try 😆

Possibly, but it wouldn’t be my first preference. Novacom had two years of intrigue and mystery building up to its conclusion after all.

You really think “new” fans aren’t hearing Novacom? Seems to me if you’re listening to Odyssey then you’re also listening to the older stuff.

Interesting. Could you share where you saw that?
I forgot exactly where and when they said it, but I think it might have been on one of the bonus pages from the past year.

Will Ryan has unfortunately died and now this Novacom thing historical refrences…
